Mia Orsi is a Visual Merchandising graduate student from Seneca College, from 2018. She is a hard working determined individual always looking to create and learn more about the retail setting and the retail industry.

Mia started working in retail when she was 16 years old while she was attending high school. Her first job was at Roots in the Vaughan Mills Premium Outlet. Her start to retail was rough, long hours, opinionated customers, and repetitive routines. It wasn’t until she began working alongside an inspiring manager, who became her great role model, that she begun to enjoy and succeed in her role. She worked alongside Jamie, watching his every move and continually asking for more work and to look for more responsibility. Jamie loved the enthusiasm in Mia, and allowed her to work as an in store Visual Merchandiser. Even though she had long hours she enjoyed her job.

Mia had a few other retail jobs but the one that sparked her interest was Eddie Bauer. She started at Eddie Bauer part time at the Vaughan Mills Premium Outlet.

Management saw the determination in her eyes and gave her the opportunity to help open the Eddie Bauer at Vaughan Mills and the location in Cookstown Mall. After a few months of working, management gave her the responsibility to lead the store flips, follow the planograms and guiding the team and doing it in a timely matter. This is where Mia found her calling in Visual Merchandising.

For Mia, Visual Merchandising is a creative space where she can create, learn and discover new ways to making products fly off the shelves. Mia loves to work with her hands and create amazing eye catching displays, she loves working with hardware. Mia can work in any retail setting but her strongest suit is in Menswear.

Mia’s goals in life is to gain a full time career in Visual Merchandising, creating, inspiring and continually learning.
